Shawl info

I bought my pattern from here, its the oak leaf shawl.
Though I am sure Yvonne told me it was also in this book, I am sure she will correct me if I am wrong.
This is the second time I have knitted this pattern and love it as the border is knitted at the same time, so when you get to the ends you are done!

I recently bought another to skein of silk to match the one Yvonne bought me recently as I loved it so much I wanted to knit something I would wear more than a scarf or shawl, in saying that I do wear my 2 little shawls all the time right now, so maybe another shawl! Anyway its not a bad match so I am searching for inspiration to see what it will become. The second skein is a little bigger so I reckon I have about 470metres, any ideas?
In case you couldn't tell there are still no photographers in the house and I never realised how difficult it is to take a photo in the mirror, this is about the 20th attempt!

Very pretty shawl, very spring-like colours!
I am most impressed with the creative photography! I haven't seen this over the shoulder technique before. Tricky.
You should maybe rethink your adversion to green, it is fetching on you!

Great camera technique - now you'll never have to complain about the quality of your photographer again...

Love the camera shot! Yes, the pattern is in that book which makes the book great value for money! I think I have knitted most of her shawls now and the Oak Leaf one is my favourite - it must be, I've knitted 3 and I have an aversion to knitting anything twice

Love the silk and the colours of the shawl :0) Excellent idea to take a photo over your shoulder - I always end up looking either miserable or deranged when I try to photograph myself in the mirror !

The shawl is gorgeous and I really appreciate your photographic difficulty. The colours you have used are beautiful.

Yvette, I have a question for you about the oak leaf shawl. I have some beautiful hand painted mohair out of which I have wanted to make a shawl. I think that most lace patterns would be obscured because of the mohair's "halo". I am thinking of using the oak leaf shawl pattern--the garter stitch will be perfect and the lace edging seems to be a strong enough pattern to stand up to the mohair. What do you think? Thanks for your comments!
